I love your palette oh my gosh! You have such a wide variety of textures going on, it's such a lovely tileset!

maruki responds:

Thank you for your kind words! It was all inspired in the delicate nature of this entity, Fugen. I wanted something remarkable, but not too strong, so pink was the chosen color.

Lovely dithering! The figures at the bottom do a great job of breaking up the symmetry.

PixelPenn responds:

Thanks! I appreciate the comment!

I love the overall mood of the piece, you also chose really warm colours.
My only suggestion would be to manually AA things! There are over 200 colours in this, and the same glowy effect can be done with way more control and precision if you do it by hand.
Look forward to more of your work!

PixelPenn responds:

Thanks! I've never considered manual AA when I made this one. Only until my latest work did I start to think using less colours in transitions can actually make it look better!

With all of the rich textures in this piece, some AA would be a nice touch.
You did a great job. I love your colour choices!

TheDyingSun responds:

Thanks! But yeah, I can agree that it would need some overall work.

I love this flail! You also managed to fit a decent amount of information in a small space. The colours you used for the metal are solid. IT'S VERY GOOD AND HANDSOME.

Looks really great! You have a solid palette and you're working with a good number of colours.
I would just recommend practicing dithering a bit. Here's a good guide if you're interested! http://opengameart.org/content/chapter-7-textures-and-dithering
Look forward to more of your work!

Nemuli responds:

Thank you so much! The article seems very helpful :)

I LOVE THIS!!! You put so much consideration and care into her design AHHHHHH I'M GONNA BEAT YOU NEXT ROUND, I SWEAR.

The linework is pretty good! It looks just like a Pokemon sprite! I would just recommend reworking the colour palette a bit. Colour treatment can make a huge difference in pixel art. An easy way to do this is to sample colours directly from existing sprites.
Here's a great guide on developing colour palettes for pixel art. https://betterin2d.com/2014/08/02/pixel-art-tutorial-creating-a-colour-palette/
I look forward to seeing your other pixel work!

Fenix-Gray responds:

Thanks, I'm a novice at this kinda thing, but I'll be sure to take your advice.

VERY HANDSOME!!!
The sprite seems great to animate! There are very few stray pixels and your pixel clusters are clean, which will make it way easier to maintain visual consistency. Colours are great and distinctive from the background.
It'll be cool to see what direction you decide to take this in. (I only suggest maybe changing the category of this submission to 'Pixel Art')

FuShark responds:

MASTER! TEACHMEYOURWAYS!

No but really I have zero clue what you mean by clusters and I'd love to hear abut it. I was struggling with the palette actually, not super happy with it since I kind of gave in to my exhaustion and called it done.

ALSO I was unaware there was a pixel art category and I am ashame to make myself out to be such a fool, this horrible mistake has been rectified.
