(i'm bad at titles)

I really would love to reach out and collaborate with other people, but I know that my lack of professional experience would make me way more of a hindrance than an asset. For now, I want to start off just meeting new people on here. By engaging with the community, I hope to learn more about other people's creative processes and develop my own discipline.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again, I really really hate pulling the, "i'm new here" shtick, but mane oh mane it's hitting me pretty hard, haha. I want to meet new people on here, but I'm not sure how to navigate the forums. I know the titles of the forums are pretty self-explanatory, but I feel pretty weird posting a topic that's like, "hEY i'M neW let'S all be frieNds pleaSe freiNd me". There are also some other site ettiquette things that I'm weirdly paranoid about, but I'll probably figure it out eventually. probably.

If anyone has any suggestions for meeting people on this site or wants to be friends, I'd appreciate the support. Thank you so much!

Hey @ornery anything you'd like to add? He's an art mod here, maybe he knows of a collab or something. You could also post what you like to do here: http://www.newgrounds.com/collab/browse/artist or maybe find someone worthy of your talents there. I like how all your submitted pieces are of different subjects (in different styles), it's good to specialize!

You've got a great attitude, I'm sure (in time) you'll fit right in! Also, don't be afraid to review other people's artwork, as well as ask questions.

Despite having an account on here, I'm still in a lurking phase I guess, huah huah. I've never taken on a big project (in terms of pixel art) so I want to see if I can rack up some more finished pieces so people can see the breadth of my work.

I really appreciate the direction! I tend to overthink things and I end up talking myself out of posting or commenting on anything, it's a bad habit. I'll definitely try to be more active in the community though, it's an important aspect of being on here.

Thank you so much for your help!

The main problem you'll have is newgrounds is very inactive, and the art community is small. I like the small community but it's pretty boring. Interesting people show up sometimes but don't often stay for very long. Sometimes there's a group activity to do together but mostly it's quietly posting on one's own art thread. If that sort of thing is what you are into then by all means welcome aboard! If you are looking for a hip platform to build your network and gain a following this probably is one of the worst places for that barring animation collabs.

I'm a fan of small communities as well, it allows for more immediate connections between users. I agree that the visual art community isn't too big here. I'll definitely branch out in the future, but for now I'm interested in developing my practices in the context of game design, which is part of the reason why I think newgrounds is a great platform for me. Eventually, I want to collaborate with others on a game, but for now I'm going to work my way through the art forums, meet new people, and see where it goes from there. Thank you so much for your input! I really appreciate it!
